Question ? Why is the Genesis the only bow permitted in the NASP ? The Genesis compound bow is a universal draw length bow, from 15 inches to 30 inches, with no let-off, which means that everyone who draws the bow, regardless of their draw length, are all drawing the same bow weight the bow is set for, between 10.5 to 20 pounds. The Genesis bow is passed from student to student, who are pulling the same bow weight, regardless of their draw length, without any change that regular compound bows with let-off require.
Question ? Why is the Easton 1820, 30 inch Aluminum required.
The Easton 1820 Aluminum 30 inch arrow is required so all students shoot the same arrow. Using a sized arrow for students would be costly and would lead to the possibility of a student shooting an arrow too short for their draw length, thereby running the risk of over drawing and causing personal injury. The 1820 is a heavy walled arrow that can with-stand punishment and damage to the arrow shaft is more visible than other arrow shafts.
Help in funding NASP ?
Contact local archery & Sportsmen's clubs, friends of the NRA (National Rifle Association), Local NWTF chapter (National Wild Turkey Federation), local politicians for grants (County & State), Home school Association, Businesses and even hold one or more "better or best ball" golf tournaments to help in funding the NASP in your school. The best way, is to write a letter, explaining how the NASP operates, by giving a brief synopsis. Explain that because of the schools limited budget, you are unable to dedicate funds to initiate the NASP and still meet the needs of the rest of your Health and Physical Education curriculum. Explain how the NASP is not just an activity for the athletically gifted, but, one in which all students can participate and excel, even the physically challenged! Should your school already have archery, explain how the NASP equipment and program is better than your current program. Explain the difference between your current archery set-up and the NASP.
Let everyone know that archery is safer than all ball sports taught in schools, except table tennis!
Question ?
Would you attend a instructors conference once each year? Week day or weekend ? Please reply to the State Coordinator by email.
Why do I need to renew my instructor certification?
Pennsylvania does not recognize the NFAA certification for the NASP and the NAA certification expires after three years, which is February 28, 2008. NADA has made changes to both of their certifications and they are both three year certifications now.
NASP has developed a group of certifications, which are better for our purpose and permit the instructor to view their records on line and as long as they teach the NASP each year, the certification renews itself. BAI packets have a: Manuel, CD, whistle, pocket reminder and a string bow. Check the "workshop Training" page for instructions to up-date your certification and obtain a packet. |
